Although a cloud has been cast over the subject
of global warming (what a play with words) but if anyone thinks the
drought is not over with in
* * * * * * * Below this point is from the previous update of December 15th * * * * * * * * * * The Verbena Historical Society held two concerts in the park this year. The following pictures are from the first concert. There were food vendors in the park and they did a brisk business. The smoke in the background is from the big barbeque grill.
Some folks arrived early and stayed until the concert was over. Others came and stayed a while and then moved on.
Chuck Rice and his group were there. That’s Chuck in the light blue shirt for those of you who knew him in his more expansive days.
Danny (Digger Dan) Dennis was there with his orchestra. Orchestra you ask? That’s correct, there were 11 of them. Danny’s group made us aware of several things we didn’t know: (1) Danny has 11 friends, (2) Danny can play the guitar and sing, simultaneously, and (3) Danny has a great singing voice.
